
Wales Week Malta 2025
Wales Week Malta is part of Wales Week Worldwide, the largest annual programme of events promoting and celebrating Wales.
Wales Week Malta takes place during the period around 1st March each year, the time of St David’s Day, Wales’ national day.
Run by the The Wales Malta Initiative, the Wales Week Malta activities and events aim to bring together Welsh and Maltese-based audiences to help commemorate Wales’ national day, celebrate Welsh heritage and culture, and to promote a modern Wales.
Typically these activities are themed around business, industry, life sciences and tech, culture, sport, food and drink, and entertainment.

Collaborative Futures: Driving Innovation in Independent Living
Collaborative Futures is a groundbreaking Wales-Malta Initiative uniting experts, researchers, and industry leaders to explore innovative solutions for independent living and healthy ageing. This dynamic event showcases real-world technology applications, from IoT-driven smart living to dementia-friendly design, highlighting the power of cross-border collaboration in research, innovation, and digital accessibility.

The Royal Malta Golf Club: Celebrating Captain’s Day & St David’s Day
The Royal Malta Golf Club, in collaboration with the Wales-Malta Initiative, proudly invites you to a two-day celebration of tradition and excellence, honouring Captain’s Day and St David’s Day. This exclusive event offers a blend of Welsh cultural delights, exceptional hospitality, and high-end networking opportunities with Wales Week London.

Empowering Female Athletes: Equality in Sports and Female Athlete Development
Hosted by the Mediterranean College of Sport (MCS) and supported by Atlas Insurance. This event will bring together leaders, practitioners, and advocates passionate about fostering gender equality and enhancing the development of female athletes in Malta. The Wales Malta Initiative is connecting the event with specialist speakers from University of Wales Trinity St David, Swansea University and University of Bath.

Maltese Diaspora Celebrations for St David’s Day in Wales
An informal opportunity for the Maltese community in Wales to come together once again and celebrate their close connection with Wales and each other.

Research & Innovation Collaborations: Malta Based Opportunities for Welsh Universities and Technical Colleges
The event will explore how small nations with big ambitions can advance Cross-Border Innovation in Sports Performance, including the role of Talent Development Pathways to level the playing field, and shine a spotlight on the new Centre of Sport Performance Science.

St David’s Day Celebrations with the British High Commissioner to Malta
To commemorate Wales’ national day, a special networking reception celebrating Wales and Maltese connections, kindly hosted by the British High Commissioner in Malta.

Life Sciences Conference – A best practice case for Medical & Health Infrastructure and Innovation Support Networks in Digital Health and Innovative Aging.
The event will bring together academia from multiple Welsh universities, public sector bodies from Wales & Malta and industry representatives with a special focus on life sciences, IoT and energy sectors.

Small Nations, Big Sporting Ambitions.
